Parts that leave our dock arrive the way they left.

Every shipment is packaged to survive the trip, insured against loss or damage, and tracked from pickup to delivery. We don't hand parts to a carrier and hope for the best — we follow them until they reach you.

2–7days

Standard turnaround on most orders.

From PO to shipment for parts with material in stock. Prototype orders can ship in 48 hours; exotic materials and complex multi-setup parts run longer. The honest lead time is always on the quote.

Packaged precision machined parts ready for shipping at Precision Edge CNC
Packaging Standards

How we protect every shipment.

Precision parts are easy to damage. A burr from sliding against another part, corrosion from humidity in transit, or a chipped edge from insufficient padding can turn a perfect part into a return. Our packaging is designed to survive real-world handling — not just a gentle ride on a smooth road.

Each shipment is packaged according to part type, material, finish, and destination. Standard packaging works for most orders; special packaging is available on request for high-value or fragile parts.

  • Individual wrapping Each machined part is wrapped in VCI paper or foam before packing. Prevents metal-to-metal contact and surface corrosion during transit.
  • Custom foam inserts For high-value or complex parts, we cut custom foam inserts that hold each piece in place. No shifting, no contact damage, no lost parts.
  • Moisture barrier for metals Stainless, carbon steel, and titanium parts ship with desiccant packs inside a sealed moisture barrier when the destination has high humidity or the transit time exceeds 5 days.
  • Labeled and documented Every carton is labeled with part number, quantity, PO reference, and packing list. Inspection reports and material certs travel inside a document sleeve on the outside of the carton.
  • Palletized for volume orders Orders over 40 lbs or 15 units ship on pallets, strapped and stretch-wrapped. Corner protectors prevent crushing during LTL transit.
  • Custom packaging on request Customer-specified packaging — kitting, sequencing, returnable containers, or vendor-managed inventory — is available. Ask during quoting.
Insurance & Liability

What happens if something goes wrong in transit.

We don't leave the outcome to the carrier. Every shipment is insured, and we handle claims so you don't have to.

Coverage

Insured to declared value

Every shipment is insured up to the declared value on the packing list — default is the invoice value. Higher coverage is available on request for high-value orders.

Claims

We file, you receive

If a shipment is lost or damaged in transit, we file the claim with the carrier directly. You don't have to deal with carrier bureaucracy. Replacement parts ship as soon as the claim is filed.

Risk of Loss

FOB Origin or FOB Destination

Default terms are FOB Origin, meaning title transfers to the customer when the shipment leaves our dock. For qualifying customers, we can ship FOB Destination. Terms are always stated on the invoice.

ITAR-controlled shipments

Parts manufactured under ITAR-controlled technical data are shipped with additional handling requirements. Only US persons are permitted to handle, pack, or receive these shipments, and all documentation is transmitted separately from the part. For international shipments of ITAR-controlled parts, a valid export license must be on file before shipment can occur. Contact [email protected] for ITAR-specific shipping questions.

Common Questions

Shipping, answered.

Our primary service area is the continental United States. International shipments are possible for existing customers and for non-ITAR parts, subject to export control review. All shipments outside the US are FOB Origin, and the customer is responsible for duties, taxes, and customs clearance. ITAR-controlled parts require a valid export license on file before shipment. Contact [email protected] to discuss specific requirements.
Yes. If you prefer to ship on your own UPS or FedEx account, provide the account number with your PO and we'll bill shipping to your account. This is common for customers with negotiated carrier rates. The parts are still packaged to our standards regardless of whose account is billed.
Rush orders ship at the same packaging standard as standard orders — we don't cut corners because a part is needed fast. Rush production carries a 35% expedite surcharge (see pricing), and rush shipping is billed at carrier rates. If your order qualifies for same-day turnaround, we'll ship on a Next Day or First Overnight service to hit the requested delivery window. Call the shop at (970) 962-9843 for availability on rush orders.
Contact us immediately at [email protected] or (970) 962-9843. We handle the claim with the carrier — you don't need to file anything. Take photos of the damage before unpacking further if possible. Replacement parts ship as soon as the claim is filed, typically within one business day.
Yes. Local customers can arrange will-call pickup at our Loveland facility during business hours. Parts are staged in the shipping bay with documentation, and someone on our shipping team will hand them off directly. Call ahead so we can have the order ready when you arrive.
Yes, with prior arrangement. Drop-shipments ship under your branding — packing lists and documentation reference your company, not ours. This is common for OEM suppliers who fulfill directly to their own customers. Drop-shipments are negotiated during quoting.
